The annual Apprentice of the Year Competition took place in the Ivy Bush Hotel in Carmarthen, on November 10th. It was a hugely successful evening, with 48 contestants competing for the coveted award. This year the competition was split into two groups depending on experience. All contestants had to prepare models in advance, producing a complete commercial look.
The competition was judged by a panel of six, Richard Jones from Moda, Zoe from Tempo Clothing, Christain Torkington from Guy Christain, Jenna, a representative from Wella, Nia Jones who is the beauty editor from Swansea Life Magazine, and Sascha Martini a freelance Make-up Artist.
Emerald Evans from the Llanelli Salon was the winner of Group 1. She received her trophy, a pair of scissors plus a cheque.
Craig Thomas from the Haverfordwest Salon came runner up.
Martin Ellard of Grafic House, took photographs of each model and the winners, producing some excellent work that showcases the entire evening, and the high standard of work produced.
Congratulations to everyone who competed, and in particular our winners.
