Apprentice of the Year 2010

Aspiring and ambitious young hairdressers from our salons showcased their best work at the Annual Apprentice of the Year Competition in Essence, Swansea, in February. Candidates’ models took to the catwalk to showcase their interpretation of their chosen theme – one of disco, rock, romance, or urban.

TV presenter Ruth Wignall compered the event, and on the judging panel there was a boasting of who’s who of hairdressers, designers and beauty experts. Including the legendary Lee Stafford, the current Wales and South West Hairdresser of the Year Ken Picton, Dom Capel from Lara Johnson Lifestyle, Swansea, Guy Christian from Cardiff, Richard Jones from Moda Collections, Swansea, and Sascha Martini, Make-up artist.

Joint winners of the competition were Daniel Williams from Swansea, and Sioned Rees from Carmarthen. Third place was awarded to Zoe Evans from Swansea. The winning models went on to represent the andrew price group in ‘Fashion Addict’, Swansea.
